The typical Mediterrenean climate prevails in Fethiye. It starts to rain generally towards the end of autumn and continue during the winter. The average temperature of summer days is about 30° C whereas in winter which rains occasionally, the temperature is about 12° C. The average see temperature in winter does not go down below 17° C.

Old town Paspatur which is around the mosque and old bath from the Ottoman period, brings the "old city" to the present day.

Fresh fruits and vegetables as well as gift items and household goods are sold in Tuesday Market. Similar markets operate in Günlükbaşı district at Sundays, Gocek at Sundays, Hisarönü at Mondays.
